How Are Magic Links Protected?

Each link is a long random code for one job. It carries 128 bits of randomness, so it can't be guessed, and Trace stores only a one-way hash of it, never the link itself.

They expire

A client link works for 90 days. Sending your client a new link doesn't break the one they already have.

You can cut access

Revoke access on a job and every link for it stops working at once.

No passwords to leak

Clients never create a password, so there's nothing for them to reuse and nothing for anyone to steal.
